Dries Van Noten & James Reeve

Lightscapes-

Today I went by the Joyce gallery to view the work of photographer James Reeve. Reeve collaborated with the Belgian designer Dries Van Noten on his SS '12 womens ready to wear collection. The photographs presented were of landscapes around the world taken during night time and shot from boats, planes or being very well positioned on the ground. The objects Mr.Reeve shot were places with very bright and bold lights. The contrast of the night sky looked wonderfully on canvas. There were also light boxes used to present some of the photos which looked amazing as well.

Mr. Reeve who is a native Marseille, France had the collection presented during the Hyeres International Festival of photography in 2010 when Van Noten came across his work. Having had a bit controversy over photos of the Taliban in Afghanistan he continues to photograph what he feels around the world. Some of the photos he has taken were decided at the moment and some took a bit more planning. The exhibition of photographs and some of the dresses made by Dries Van Noten will be on display until Jan. 26th in the Paris.
