Fashion Week: To the virgins

Mercedes Benz Fashion week is an awesome experience to be a part of for any newly implanted New Yorker. My main suggestions for any newcomer that would like to be apart of the true fashion week experience are below:

*Wear every outfit that you have not worn yet and any that you have been holding for a "special" occasion. Not having an invite to shows in hand does not mean you cant dress like you do.

*Any party or show that you hear about just go! The door person can only say your name is not on the list. By going you show that you should be there because your as fashionable as any other person there.

*Be in touch with all the people you have already met in the city and see what they have going on during the week. You maybe totally surprised at what they say.

*At least go to Bryant Park once during the week. if you do not have anything planned for the day going and people/trend watching is always a great pleasure.

Fashionn Week: Benjamin Cho

Designer, Benjamin Cho had a show that the downtown supporters of his collection could relate too. Although starting later than planned he showed a collection that he said was relevant to where he is in his career. Benjamin Cho wanted to go back to the beginning of his career and certainly showed that with the details in the collection. Some garments looked as though there was still some sewing to be done but, that small detail just related back to the fact he wanted to use the mind set of a fresh new designer. He used accents like keys and no jewelry which was very interesting and a good change from the more traditional use of jewels and jewelery. Off the shoulder dresses made the garments more feminine and gave them a touch of elegance. My personal favorite trend (that I am positive we will see much) he used a weave like technique. The weave pattern was enjoyable to see because it gave your mind something other than patches and such to work with. Mr. Cho seemed that he honestly had fun with his collection and as a fashion enthusiast that is all I can ask for. If your not having fun and enjoying your work anymore there maybe other things you should be doing. And where else would he hold an awesome after party? Santos Partyhouse! We know that is the place for the serious fashionista to party.
